What's New in ZavoBox OS v4.2

ZavoBox OS v4.2 is here

We're excited to announce the release of ZavoBox OS v4.2, our biggest software update yet. This release focuses on three areas: speed, discoverability, and content access.

What's new

1. Blazing-fast boot times

Boot times have been reduced by up to 40% across all models. On V6 Max and V6 Plus with their Amlogic platforms, cold boot now takes under 15 seconds. From standby, it's nearly instant.

2. Enhanced search

The new search system features:

Voice search improvements — more natural language support across English, Spanish, and Chinese
Fuzzy matching — find content even with typos or partial names
Search history and recently watched integration
Category filters within search results (Movies, Sports, Kids, News)

3. New channel integrations

We've added over 200 new channels across global regions including:

Expanded Asian content library (Korean drama, Japanese anime, Chinese variety)
Additional European sports feeds (Premier League extra cameras, F1 pit lane)
Latin American telenovelas and news networks

4. Redesigned player controls

The video player has been refreshed with:

Gesture-based seek (swipe left/right to scrub timeline)
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for browsing while watching
Subtitle font customization (size, color, background opacity)

5. Stability & performance

Under the hood improvements:

Memory optimization reducing app crashes by ~60%
Smoother scrolling in long channel lists
Better background task management
Improved OTA update reliability

How to update

All ZavoBox devices running Android 12 or higher will receive this update automatically via OTA (Over-the-Air):

Go to Settings > System > System Update
Tap Check for Update
If v4.2 is available, tap Download and Install
Your device will restart automatically after installation

Note: First-time update may take 10–15 minutes. Make sure your device stays plugged into power during the update process.

Customizable home screen layouts
Family profiles with parental controls
Cloud-based watchlist sync across multiple ZavoBox devices
Support for Bluetooth LE accessories
