ZavoBox Setup Guide: Unbox to Streaming in 5 Minutes

Everything you need to know to get started

Setting up your ZavoBox is designed to be simple enough for anyone, regardless of technical skill. Follow these steps and you'll be streaming in minutes.

What's in the box

Before you start, confirm your box includes:

  • ✅ ZavoBox main unit
  • ✅ Remote control (Bluetooth voice remote or backlit remote, depending on model)
  • ✅ HDMI cable
  • ✅ Power adapter
  • ✅ User manual
  • ✅ External antenna (V6 Pro & V5 Pro only)

Step 1: Connect to your TV

  1. Find an HDMI port on your TV (any HDMI port works; HDMI 2.0+ recommended for 4K)
  2. Plug one end of the included HDMI cable into your ZavoBox
  3. Plug the other end into your TV
  4. Note which HDMI input number you used (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, etc.) — you'll need this next

Step 2: Power on

  1. Connect the power adapter to your ZavoBox
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet
  3. Press the power button on the remote (or on the device itself if equipped)
  4. Wait 10–30 seconds for the ZavoBox logo screen to appear

Step 3: Select the right input on your TV

  1. Grab your TV remote (not the ZavoBox remote)
  2. Press the Input or Source button
  3. Select the HDMI port you connected to in Step 1
  4. You should see the ZavoBox welcome/setup screen

Step 4: Initial setup wizard

When you first turn on ZavoBox, a setup wizard will guide you through:

  1. Language selection — Choose your preferred language
  2. Network connection — Select your WiFi network and enter the password (or plug in an Ethernet cable)
  3. Google account — Optional: sign in for Play Store access
  4. Display settings — Confirm resolution (Auto-detect is usually correct)
  5. System update — Let it check for and install the latest OS version

Pro tip: Keep your remote close during this step — you'll need it to navigate the menus.

Step 5: Start watching!

Once setup completes, you'll land on the ZavoBox home screen. From here you can:

  • Browse Live Channels organized by category
  • Access On-Demand movies and series
  • Open Apps for additional services
  • Use Search to find specific content

Troubleshooting common issues

No signal on TV

  • Check HDMI connections on both ends
  • Try a different HDMI port on your TV
  • Verify your TV is set to the correct input/source

Can't connect to WiFi

  • Ensure your WiFi password is entered correctly (case-sensitive!)
  • Move your ZavoBox closer to your router temporarily to test
  • Try 2.4GHz band if 5GHz won't connect (better range, slightly slower)
  • For V6 Pro/V5 Pro: attach the external antenna for stronger signal

Remote not working

  • First-time pairing: Most remotes auto-pair when powered on. If not:
    • Hold the Home button + Back button together for 5 seconds
    • Look for a "Bluetooth pairing" prompt on screen
  • Replace batteries (most models use AAA batteries — not included)

Picture quality looks low

  • Go to Settings > Display > Resolution and set to 4K @ 60Hz (or Auto)
  • Make sure you're using the included HDMI cable or a certified High Speed HDMI cable
  • Check that HDR is enabled in both ZavoBox settings and your TV settings
